Inside Line Promotions – CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (June 27, 2018) – Ohio Sprint Speedweek is what the doctor ordered for Kevin Swindell and Spencer Bayston, who produced an efficient and clean week and a half of racing with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

The Swindell Speed Lab backed team earned a trio of top-10 finishes and six top 15s in the seven races to finish tied for third in the Speedweek standings.

“Just to have a good, consistent week was what we were looking to have,” Bayston said. “Obviously we want to finish as high up as possible, but the focus was to make it to the next night, learn and get faster. We definitely had the speed all week.”

Rain plagued the latter part of last week, setting up a two-race showdown on Saturday at Atomic Speedway to wrap up Ohio Sprint Speedweek. Bayston maneuvered from 20th to 13th during the early evening A Main, which was made up from Wednesday’s show that was postponed because of inclement weather.

“All Ohio tracks seem to be pretty slick,” he said. “I was up to 11th before the final restart. We made some really good ground and I felt pretty good, but it was hard to do a whole lot back there.”

That night also featured a full show with Bayston qualifying second quickest in his group and ending fourth in a heat race to lock into the 17th starting position for the A Main.

“We made some changes off the day show and I felt like we got a lot better in the night race,” Bayston said. “The track took rubber, but we were able to make up some ground. I was certain if it didn’t rubber up we’d be in a good position and have a better finishing position, but we were still able to work by some guys with it being a one-lane race track.”

The consistency was needed after a rough previous month of racing.

“It was a good thing for us to have seven races with nothing being broke and everyone being consistent and fast,” Swindell said. “It was a step in the right direction.”

The team will return to action this Friday at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Ind., with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions before competing on Saturday at Atomic Speedway

Bayston and NASCAR star Christopher Bell will share the Swindell Speed Lab sponsored race car throughout Pennsylvania Speedweek next week.
